thinkBooker boosts Welsh Rugby Camps bookings

We were delighted to recently launch the new online booking system for the Welsh Rugby Union’s kids summer Rugby Camps.

Run by WRU qualified rugby coaches, the camps are a staple of school holiday activity for hundreds of boys and girls across the Principality. An opportunity for kids to learn the skills that may set them on the path towards a lifetime of participation with Wales’ national sport, in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.

Positive Customer Experience

Parents are often faced with a challenge when it comes to booking suitable activity and care for their children during the holidays. They need to have the assurance and peace of mind that they are entertained and looked after within a safe and secure environment, while often pressed for time when it comes to the actual booking process.

Thanks to thinkBooker, the WRU have a system in place that delivers a fast, and easy to navigate online booking process. It allows parents to be able to reserve a place on a camp within only a couple of minutes, via mobile, desktop, or tablet. By automatically registering first-time bookers with an account, it removes the laborious sign-up processes that discourage many potential customers.

This means they can easily login and access the ‘My Booking’ feature, providing a convenient way for them to supply essential consent and pre-course information at a time of their choosing.

It’s an important feature, and integral to the provision of a streamlined booking process, improving the convenience factor for parents, while ensuring all essential information was still captured in advance of the courses. Delivering greater customer experience, with a simplicity that can play a key role in encouraging more people to make bookings.

Brand Integrity

The WRU has a special place in the heart of Welsh culture, and the symbol of a sport that’s imbued into the fabric of the nation. Therefore, it was very important that we delivered a system that protected the integrity, and indeed, identity of the brand.

The booking system is designed to the fit with the new look and feel of the WRU brand, which means that the customer completes the booking journey without the sense of being sent off to a third-party booking website.

Management Benefits

Of course, when investing in a new piece of software, there has to be a commercial value for the investment. As mentioned, the simplicity of the process to the end user is designed to encourage greater booking rates, and fewer drop-outs, and increasing the opportunities for revenue growth.

This is further enhanced on the management side by providing a simple means to add upsell items to each order. However, it’s in the operational effectiveness of the system that the WRU can achieve exceptional value, with thinkBooker providing a platform to automate many of the tasks within booking management that previously would have been time-consuming manual tasks. Tasks that might take coaches and managers away from the more pro-active aspects of their jobs; such as sending out emails to clients, creating registers, and generating reports.

A host of other features such as discount codes, waiting lists, integration with the WRU’s CRM system and an Executive Dashboard which provides real-time sales information, means that the WRU have a full toolkit at their disposal.

Proud Association

It goes without saying that, for a company with Welsh roots and a head office only a stone’s throw away from Principality Stadium, we’re extremely proud to be working with the WRU, delivering a modern, streamlined booking system that offers a hassle-free way for parents to get their kids outside and active playing rugby during the school holidays.

Hundreds of boys and girls throughout Wales took part in the summer Rugby Camps and, for all those children looking to become the next Sam Warburton or Leigh Halfpenny, the WRU October Half Term Rugby Camps are now available to book online at: https://bookings.wru.co.uk/
