Increased Growth and New Markets for thinkBooker

September always comes with a sense of new beginning, doesn’t it? The kids are back to school, the University campuses open up to a new batch of Freshers, the football and rugby seasons get back into full swing and workplaces return to full quota after the absences through the summer holidays.

So, as we embark upon this new period, re-charged and full of urgent vigour, we thought we’d offer a quick review of how the thinkBooker brand has grown and evolved over the past twelve months. And how this has shaped the way in which we can tackle the exciting times ahead.

Double Digit Growth Across 2017-18

Increased demand, new clients and a move into new industry sectors have all contributed to a 43% increase in revenue in the past 12 months.

It marks the increasing presence that our award-winning booking system has within the overall business of parent company UpriseVSI, comprising 30% of the company’s overall turnover for 2017-18 (from 10% in 2016-17).

Sporting Success

thinkBooker has its roots in the sporting arena having originally been built to book school camps for the likes of Manchester United, Juventus and Fulham FC.

It’s a legacy that’s continued to blossom over the past year with new projects for the FAW Trust (pitch and room booking system), Dragons Rugby (internal room booking and CRM), and Pro Shot Golf Club in Milton Keynes (website and booking system).

And, as we mentioned on this blog in May, thinkBooker has also been appointed to deliver an innovative booking and scheduling system for New Generation Ski & Snowboard School across 27 major resorts throughout Europe.

Making an Impact in New Sectors

However, central to the burgeoning growth of thinkBooker has been the diversification into new sectors.

From personal shopper and staff scheduling systems with major brands such as Farfetch, to the time saving, revenue generating room booking system and website for London Meeting Rooms and a course booking system for AIM-listed education provider Wey Education, the year has been dominated by developing business-enhancing solutions for a range of different needs.

Strong Customer Relations

Of course, as well as welcoming new clients into the fold, it’s also been crucial to solidify the offering and service we provide our existing customers.

This has included developing our work with the Welsh Rugby Union, as well as expanding our relationship with Cardiff Airport beyond executive lounge bookings to an integrated customer feedback and CRM system.

Plus, ongoing development of cutting-edge resource scheduling software for Retail Merchandising Systems (RMS), following its initial 2017 launch, has helped bring new efficiencies and quality control in the business, helping them win some large new contracts with major names in the UK retail sector.

Gareth Rees Jones, MD of thinkBooker

“We set out at the start of this financial year to increase the number of thinkBooker projects and recurring revenue and to expand into new sectors and I’m pleased to say that we’ve achieved that.  There is strong demand and recognition amongst brands that they have to provide their customers with a convenient and personalised customer experience and a major element is allowing them to book services or experiences online at any time and from any device.

“Also, by collecting personal data, preferences, lifestyle information and even things like clothes sizes, which the thinkBooker system does, allows a company or brand to personalise the customer experience, which is proven to increase sales and loyalty.  At the same time, companies are looking for efficiencies including saving time and money on manual admin and scheduling tasks and increasing the reliability and quality of the services that they deliver.  The tools available within the thinkBooker systems have the proven ability to achieve this and, of course, it provides UpriseVSI with a powerful addition to our overall web development and digital applications portfolio.”
